About Me

I’m a fourth generation Japanese American from Hawaii. After graduating college in 2021, I moved to Tokyo and started making content. At first I tried different things like Japanese language videos on Instagram, then travel tips, then vlogs. Over time I realized what I enjoy most is showing Japan’s low key spots through trains and everyday travel and now make videos about them on my Youtube channel.

I’ve also done editing work for Japan based creators with channels ranging from around 400,000 to 800,000 subscribers on YouTube. [Click here to see my portfolio.]

Why I Started This Channel

I've always wanted to make content that feels different from what you usually see on YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok. A lot of those videos focus on the same well known places like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku, Akihabara (I can keep going but I'll stop lol). But I always thought Japan had other places to offer other than those places.

Even before I started filming I liked finding "random" places away from big crowds. I would go to these spots even if it takes a while to get there. Once I arrive I enjoy figuring out what to do around the area. Sometimes there is not much, but for me that is part of the fun.

I started this channel in October 2024, just to try doing the things I wanted without expecting much growth in the beginning. So I made videos about trains and visiting low key spots. One of the early ones, the train station you cannot leave in Japan, ended up blowing up (with over 400,000 views when I had 600 subscribers) and that made me want to take the channel more seriously.

For this channel I make videos about low key and lesser known spots, using trains as the way to get there. Through my videos I hope to show that Japan is more than just the popular places you always hear about, and maybe inspire people to check out these quieter spots too.
